Lake Lanier Islands - Everything that you could want to know about Lake Lanier, the largest lake in Georgia, just north of Atlanta.
Chattahoochee National Recreation Area -  This is a national park that runs straight through Atlanta.  Hiking trails, river rafting, nature programs, etc. can be found here.
